Atlanta, GA, and Alameda, CA, October 2, 2000 -- Setting a new standard in online medical communication, National Data Corporation (NYSE:NDC) and Healinx Corporation announced the completed integration of the NDC eScript Prescription Services into the Healinx™ system.
Through a recent acquisition, Healinx now offers eScript, a premier Web-based electronic prescription service, as one of its leading products. Healinx also gained an eScript strategic partner, NDC Health Information Services. The two companies offer NDC eScript Prescription Services, a premier electronic prescription authorization service.
NDC Health Information Services will offer the Healinx eScript and NDC eScript Prescription Services with its practice management software. The Healinx eScript and NDC eScript Prescription Services will use the NDC open-network environment that allows vendors' prescription-writing applications to exchange data with NDC's pharmacy customers electronically.

The Healinx eScript service currently encompasses 114 pharmacies, more than 3,000 doctors and other prescribers authorizing more than 3 million prescriptions per year on a thin-Web-browser platform, making it the leader in the Web electronic-prescription-messaging market. The Healinx eScript service includes a customized Web-messaging service for doctor/patient communication. NDC Health Information Services serves more than 90 percent of the nation's pharmacies, over 180,000 physicians, more than 20 percent of the nation's hospitals and more than 1,000 payers with over 4,000 plans.
