100-Member Medical Group Anticipates Even Stronger Customer Service Levels, Reduced Administration Costs

Emeryville, Calif., May 8, 2002 — Healinx Corporation, the premier provider of Web-based, doctor-patient communication services, today announced it will provide its secure online messaging platform to the Bristol Park Medical Group on a subscription basis. Healinx-supplied communication services will enable the 100-member clinical staff of Orange County, California-based Bristol Park Medical Group to securely communicate with both patients and each other online, augmenting Bristol Park's existing customer service initiatives, reducing administrative costs, and enhancing the practice's online presence.

The secure Healinx online messaging platform accommodates many of the administrative activities that typically tie up a medical practice's phone lines, streamlining and often improving communication between physician and patient.

Bristol Park Medical Group will use Healinx to schedule appointments, distribute lab results, communicate internally, and respond to non-urgent clinical (webVisit™) and administrative questions online. Bristol Park will also use Healinx to help educate patients via medically reviewed, electronically distributed Self Help articles and newsletters.

A number of Bristol Park Medical Group physicians have been using the Healinx service for nearly two years; several are participating in a landmark webVisit® reimbursement study Blue Shield of California and Healinx are conducting to determine the impact of online communication on the relationships between doctors and their established patients. The experiences of these current Bristol Park users helped influence the decision to license the Healinx service group-wide.

With this agreement, Bristol Park joins the growing list of medical groups nationwide who have selected Healinx to support their online communications needs. Other such customers include Baltimore/Washington D.C.-based MedStar Health, one of the nation's largest healthcare systems encompassing 4,000 physician members, and Hill Physicians Medical Group, the nation's largest independent practice association with 2,000 affiliated physicians and more than 380,000 HMO enrollees in northern California.

The online Healinx services will be incorporated into the Bristol Park Web site, www.bristolparkmed.com, starting July 1, 2002.
