RelayHealth Introduces New Payor Products and Services to Meet Clinical Connectivity Demand at AHIP 2008
New offerings for health plans integrate medication record data and expedite claims processing.
SAN FRANCISCO, JUNE 18, 2008—AHIP INSTITUTE ─ RelayHealth, the leading provider of healthcare connectivity services, today announced the addition of new products and services designed to improve clinical information exchange between payors, providers, retail pharmacies and members. RelayHealth’s new offerings for health plans include patient education programs and care management support services, and solutions that integrate medication record data and expedite claims processing.
This latest portfolio extension builds on the momentum of the PayorDirect initiative launched last fall as RelayHealth continues to strengthen its presence in the payor community. Using these new offerings, payors can expect to improve medical loss ratios, increase member satisfaction and make information-sharing easier to implement.
“The RelayHealth intelligent network enables health plans to transform interactions with their members, provider networks and retail pharmacies,” said Pamela Pure, president of McKesson's RelayHealth business. “By enabling all of these key constituents to connect, RelayHealth helps insurers to better manage their business operations while supporting patient safety initiatives and improving members’ access to high-quality convenient care options such as webVisit® online consultations.”
Over the past six months, RelayHealth has seen phenomenal consumer and media interest in the use of the webVisit, the industry’s premier online patient/physician consultation service. The service features a clinically structured Web-based interview for members to communicate non-urgent symptoms with their physician. “Demand by consumers for a secure means to exchange clinical information with their care providers continues to exponentially grow as online services become increasingly common in other aspects of our lives,” noted Pure.
RelayHealth’s latest payor offerings are as follows:
Software as a Service (SaaS)
- IntegrateRx - Medication History connects healthcare organizations with payors and retail pharmacies, providing a record of a member’s prescribed medications when needed for care.
- NPI Append/Prescriber Files provides a cross-walk to map customer-provided prescriber Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) issued numbers to National Provider Identifiers (NPIs) to help payors with electronic billing and processing of medical and pharmacy claims.
- Patient Education Programs comprise an extensive library of more than 5,000 health topics and 6,000 medication products available in consumer-friendly learning formats utilizing vibrant digital animations and easy-to-understand videos and illustrations. Payors can utilize this rich content online as well as make available 24/7 as an online service to their members.
Software Products
- MCO (Managed Care Optimizer) claims payment service empowers health plans, third-party administrators and self-administered employer groups to manage their business operations in a more efficient, real-time manner at lower cost. The MCO service coordinates all touch points in a health plan enterprise: benefit administration, provider networks, member enrollment, medical management, claims processing, business rules, workflow, customer service (member and provider), and daily operations.
- CareEnhance® Call Center is a workflow tool that supports a variety of care management services for payors by connecting the needs of members and providers to facilitate care in the most appropriate setting. It provides a decision support system for clinicians and health professionals engaged in disease management, health and wellness programs, symptom assessment and health education, as well as customer relationship management.
Later this year, RelayHealth will introduce Payor Connectivity Services, further expanding its offering portfolio to help health plans better manage the complexity and impact of anticipated changes from industry and regulatory requirements such as 5010 and ICD-10.
RelayHealth executives will be available for discussion with attendees in Booth 109 during exhibit hours at the AHIP Institute.
