RelayHealth Selected by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts as an ePrescribing Vendor
Participating Physicians May Earn Pay for Performance for Prescribing Electronically
EMERYVILLE, CA and BOSTON, MA, April 26, 2006 — RelayHealth Corporation, the nation's premier provider of secure online healthcare communications, has been selected by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) as an Eligible ePrescribing Vendor for 2006 Performance Based Incentive Programs.
BCBSMA sets defined minimum functionality requirements for its vendors on an annual basis to give their providers the opportunity to use the most robust ePrescribing solutions in the industry. RelayHealth has met these requirements and is an Eligible ePrescribing technology vendor for 2006. This means providers in BCBSMA's Pay for Performance programs who select RelayHealth or other eligible ePrescribing technology vendors can participate in the ePrescribing measure.
RelayHealth's eScript™ solution is the only online prescription and renewal service to include healthcare consumers in the electronic prescribing process. Using eScript, BCBSMA physicians can renew previously prescribed medications and prescribe new medications for any patient in their care. RelayHealth helps to ensure safe prescribing through comprehensive drug interaction checking. Patients can also manage a complete list of medications using their RelayHealth Personal Health Record.
In addition to RelayHealth's eScript solution, physicians can use the RelayHealth service to communicate online with patients, with whom they have established relationships, enhancing patient access to care for non-urgent situations such as appointment requests, lab and test results, referrals, and can quickly and efficiently communicate about non-urgent medical symptoms (via the webVisit® clinical consultation).
