Two RelayHealth leaders present at ONC annual meeting
Two RelayHealth leaders, David Nace, MD, vice president/medical director, McKesson RelayHealth and Arien Malec, vice president, Data Platform Solutions, will participate in this week’s Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Annual Meeting.
Nace, who also serves as chairman, Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, will participate in the “IT Bricks and Mortar to Optimize Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH)” session. This session is focused on the progress our healthcare system has made in pursuit of the patient-centered medical home, “…an approach to providing comprehensive primary care that facilitates partnerships between individual patients, and their personal providers, and when appropriate, the patient’s family,” according to the Joint Principles of the Patient-Centered Medical Home, a position paper developed by the leading primary care professional associations.
Malec, who has also been named to the ONC’s Health IT Standards Committee, will participate in the “S&I Framework: Helping Shape Interoperability and Improve Patient Care” session on standards and interoperability, and will discuss the work that ONC has done to develop standards and services in support of Stage 2 meaningful use and coordination of care.
Registration is already closed for this meeting. However, the PCMH session will be webcast live. To register for the webcast, visit http://www.healthit.gov/oncmeeting2011/register/.
