What is Encryption?

Encryption makes data unreadable to anyone other than the receiver. Encryption is a common way of securely sending credit card numbers over the Internet when conducting commercial transactions.

All messages sent and received within the RelayHealth service are encrypted using a protocol called Secure Sockets Layer technology (SSL). If a URL begins with "https", you can tell that an SSL connection is being used. With SSL protection, registered RelayHealth users can rest assured that RelayHealth communications will arrive privately and unaltered to the recipient specified (and no other).
