RelayHealth is committed to compliance with all applicable health information privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, or HIPAA.
To guide our compliance efforts, we've established a formal HIPAA Compliance Program. This program is designed to help prevent violations of applicable health privacy laws and, where such violations occur, to promote their early and accurate detection and prompt resolution through education, monitoring, disciplinary action, and other appropriate measures.
Our HIPAA Compliance Program has the following components:
- An appointed Privacy Officer and supporting HIPAA Compliance Committee manage the HIPAA Compliance Program.
- Detailed policies and procedures institutionalize RelayHealth's HIPAA Compliance Program companywide.
- Employees receive regular compliance education and training.
- Compliance is monitored on a regular basis through periodic audits and other practices.
- A combination of physical, administrative, and technical safeguards protect the security of confidential health information.
