Our Privacy Policy
We respect the concern patients and providers have about the privacy of health information. We're highly sensitive to concerns that health information may be used or disclosed inappropriately, leaving consumers vulnerable to unwanted exposure, stigma, discrimination, and economic losses. We appreciate the concern that personal information might be used to deny health insurance, employment, or credit.
That's why RelayHealth is firmly committed to setting and upholding the highest of privacy standards.
To this end, we developed and enforce a thorough privacy policy statement. We will not submit information exchanged in the RelayHealth service with advertisers or other third parties. And we provide patients the opportunity to see who has accessed their health information. These are just a few of the ways RelayHealth protects health information.
Here's a further summary of our privacy policy. Please read our full privacy policy for complete details.
- To facilitate Web-based communication between patients and their physicians, we ask for the personal information physicians require to respond to online requests. However, all data submitted to RelayHealth is kept private and confidential.
- RelayHealth will not sell, share, or rent any identifiable information with any party other than the patient, the patient's doctor, and the doctor's authorized staff.
- Physicians must "accept" patients they message with via the RelayHealth service, and patients must authorize the sharing of medical information with their physician.
- Patients can terminate their RelayHealth relationship with a physician at any time and vice versa.
- Patients receive ample notification of chargeable services, and must actively accept any fees assessed. Any financial information collected is used for billing purposes only.
- Registered RelayHealth users are notified of any changes or updates to the RelayHealth Privacy Policy.
